What is worship like at First Lutheran Church?

Our worship services are steeped in the Scripture as well as the Lutheran tradition. Each and every Sunday we seek to offer praise to God, preach the word to His people, and share the sacrament (Holy Communion) in His name.

Kids are welcome in worship! Click here for First Lutheran's "20 Ideas to Help Your Child Prepare for and Experience Worship." We also offer supervised nursery care from 9am-12pm for smaller children.

All are welcome to sing, pray, share His peace with one another, and commune in Christ's name so that we may go forth to serve the Lord and share His light. We see worship as a time to renew our call to teach, baptize, and make disciples (Matthew 28:16-20).

Our
Liturgy rotates weekly and worship styles range from traditional to contemporary. Liturgy is based on the Revised Common Lectionary, a collection of readings from the Bible for use in Christian Worship across denominations, making provision for the liturgical year with a pattern of observances of festivals and seasons.

Communion is practiced weekly to commemorate the Lord's Supper and for us to be renewed for His work in the world.

A healing blessing is offered at the 10:30 service as you return to your seat following Communion. All are welcome to choose whether they would like to receive the annointing of oil with a prayer for healing and wholeness.

Please join us for coffee and snacks following both services in the Fellowship Hall, and for an opportunity to learn more about who we are
as a body of believers.
